Where to tap in Air/Fuel gauge?

I bought an Air/fuel gauge by Autometer, but I can't figure out where the 02 sensor wire is..I looked on VFAQ where they explain where it is, but once i checked for resistance on that connector i was getting 2.5 ohms which is too high.. Would it be easier to tap it right into the 02 sensor wiring under the hood? Or was I looking for the wire in the wrong place?

just tap it into that wire, dont worry about running wires all over the engine bay
