need help with my 4g63 NT please...

i can't go over 140 Km/h with my 1992 mitsubishi eclispe GS NT, the engine doesnt speed more than 140 km/h even the speedometer is 240 km/h and my car did reach the 200km/h when it was new.. what could be the problem??

Well, if it's not missing I would check your fuel and air filter. If that passes then looking at the catalytic converter for back pressure would be my next test. If all these pass then possible fuel pump getting tired which can be tested with a fuel pressure gauge which is a bi*** to install since there's no schrader on the engine. However most shops have the adapter that hooks in to give you a schrader for testing purposes. Do some tests and post some specific findings to let us know what you have done. Finally, have the codes pulled to see if you have any related cel codes. I would do this first. I just thought of it last.
