hey guys

this is the damnest thing.. i'm at a complete loss and very confused. please help!

i just installed energy suspension motor mount inserts. get the car back together and go to start it, but i get nothing (just clicking.. from the starter i think?)

if i push start it, the car runs fine. took it for a drive and it pulls hard, as it should.
(i like the motor mount inserts, very nice. wheel hop gone). i noticed however that when i push the AC button the AC does not come on and neither does the indicator on the button. everything else appears to work properly.

i have checked all of the connections at the terminals a million times, and that's deffinitely not the problem.

FYI:
i did not remove the rear engine mount from the car.. i could not easily get it out from under the shifter cables and i did not want to remove the bracket from the engine. i was able to slip the inserts into the mount while it was loose yet still down in the car.
so, ALL that i did to install the inserts is remove the battery and tray, unbolt the mount, install the inserts re-bolt the mount and i was set (i also did the front mount by removing it, the front is simple as cake)

does anybody have ANY idea what could be going on here?
i cannot start the car unless i push it. i would replace the starter, but what's up with the AC problem? that makes me think that it isn't as simple as the starter...

please help
much appreciated

thanks guys

hmm, i can't seem to edit my post... page won't load...
but i wanted to add that i tested battery and alternator voltage and that's not the problem either...

can anybody think of anything that i could have bumped down in the vicinity of the rear motor mount that would cause the starter and AC to be disfunctional?

thanks again

heh, whoops. forgot that i shut off the fan to save some power when my car wouldn't start.. my bad..

so i guess my starter died.. ironically while i was modding my car which freaked me out...

i'll be back if that doesn't fix it ;) :)

thanks:)

You probably are correct. Check your connections at battery, starter main post and have someone crank the engine while you have a test light on the solenoid input from key switch. If it illuminates then the starter solenoid is probably junk. Happens all the time. Good Luck

yeah, i've checked the connections a million times tonight.. i had a lot of corrosion on the + terminal, so i put a light coat of grease on the terminals and shit, which i expected no problems from.. but when it wouldn't start i cleaned everything obsessivly

so i take it that the start solenoid alone can be replaced on this starter? (havn't checked)
i think i may just go to the dealer and get a whole new starter monday

thanks

Yes, you can change the solenoid by itself. Take it to a starter/alternator shop and have them go through it. Cheaper and in my humble opinion they do a better job. Good Luck

problem resolved... it appears that it was not the starter

i swapped the starter and it kept doing the same thing.. hear the fuel pump but nothing else..

i tested all the voltages and it was good, even the signal wire.. but while playing with the signal wire, it all of a sudden fired up.. seems that it was some corrosion inside the signal wire connector, however i have no idea why it decided to show itself at the same time that i installed my motor mounts *shrug*

first time the DSM gremlin has bitten me like that :p

thanks for the help guys
