 95 Eclipse GS-T 1 mm over pistons, new rings, rods, crank and oil pump. Pressure regulator is clean. Oil is Mobile one 10W-30. Engine starts, appears to flow oil when cranked with the filter adapter off. But very low, not enough to turn the idiot light off oil pressure. Possibilities, machine shop put wrong bearings in, balance shaft bearings omitted or misinstalled, some other source of internal oil leak, or new oil pump is bad.
When it first started it ran fine for 10 minuets or so until I gave it some throttle to back out of the drive way, then the idiot light turned on. Any help to narrow down this problem will be appreciated.

Thanks,

Bill

A mechanical oil pressure gauge can be had for pretty cheap. Average oil pressure is around 10psi with balance shafts installed. W/O is around 25 psi.
Your dummy light comes on at I think 5 psi....

While you're driving does your light go off? Or is it just at idle? You'll have low oil pressure if you're low on oil so always make sure your oil level is good.

Is this the first time you are starting it? If so I hope you aren't using synthetic oil to break it in...please tell me you aren't... Also you are going to want a mechanical gauge like ddavisaf said. You might just have something hooked up on the sending unit or it could be going bad.
