I have a 97 gst spyder, it has a filter, bov and fuel pressure regulator. It had a bad fuel filter so i put a new one in and the problem went away. then i had no power again so i figured the tank had crud in it, so i put a new fuel filter in it. Except this time, there was no rust in it. So i should do a pressure leak test, bust why would the car run mint, after the first fuel filter, if i have a air pressure leak? Is this a common problem with dsm's?

Don't bump your threads :nono:

-Run a boost leak test
http://www.vfaq.com/mods/ICtester.html
Pressurize the system to 20 psi, and it should hold that for a minimum of 30 seconds.

-Check your spark plugs, make sure they're the right kind, right gap, and not fouled
You want NGK BPR6ES gapped at .028"

-Check your plug wires

-Check your coil pack resistance on both primary and secondary coils

-Make sure your car is in time

-If all else fails run a compression test

If you bump your post because nobody is responding, expect the thread to be locked and your account possibly suspended. Bumping threads is not allowed. If someone has the answer, they will respond eventually. If nobody responds, it might have to do with what was said above.

Bumping is when you just type something in to bring your thread back to the top.

I promise you, I will get to your thread before I leave for the day. I try and help as many people as I can a day and I usually go from the most recent until I hit my posts from yesterday.

I did the pressure test and i need to know what to do, the spring thing next to the throttle body leaks, and it sounds like the air is going into the MOTOR! ok pros now its your turn! please reply OMG

If you're running a static boost leak test from the turbo inlet it's normal for air to bypass the ring inside the turbo. You will hear "oil bubbling".
Try testing from the lower intercooler pipe instead.

Throttle Body Shaft Seal Replacement ^

Also replace the throttle body/intake manifold gasket as those go bad alot.
