Hey,
I have a 1998 Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX 5 speed. My problem is that the car will start on the first time. As soon as it is a little warmed up and I turn it off and try to restart it the RPMs rise then fall and the car dies. If I don't turn the car off and try to drive the car dies when I switch into gears. I had by battery tested it was dead. So I replaced it. Had the alternator checked it also was bad, replaced that. Now the car still does this. I don't know if this would be a clogged fuel injector(s)? The weird thing is my check engine light isn't on either. Prior to all of this when I pushed my clutch in the check engine light came on and the car would start to die, but regain itself. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Thanks,
-Ryan

The starting and dieing thing could be your fuel pump or filter...sounds like you are getting initial feed but then it dies off. Try the easier way first and change the filter, if still have it try the pump. Hope that helps.

I would check the coil resistances on the ISC. A bad ISC will sometimes cause this to happen. I once had an ISC that tested good, when cold, but produced an open circuit coil reading once warmed up.

Hey thanks for the response guys. I ended up having the car flat bedded to the shop and there was nothing wrong with the car. It just needed to sit and idle for like an hour. Good thing my insurance covers towing! While, it was at the shop I just had them replace the fuel filter anyways. I had bought one for it and just had them do it. The car runs great now. Again thank you for your help. :thumb: :dsm:
