So i was just getting on the highway and pushed the clutch in to shift to 5th and it wouldnt go into gear. the clutch pedal was all the way back like i still had my foot on it. i put my foot under it and popped it out and its been fine now. is this something to worry about? If i had broken some clutch line, it wouldnt have come back would it?

Have you considered crankwalk? If the pedal went all the way to the floor and didn't return, that could be a sign of a leak, but if it works okay now and the system is full of fluid, your crank probably shifted.

I had a similar problem yesterday when I was in a drive thru of a Taco Bell. I left the car there, because mine was a little worse than yours, the clutch wasn't always returning when I tried it.

Came back today, pushed the car back a little bit, and found a nice puddle of Brake fluid. After doing some research, it seems like a failed Slave Cylinder is the culprit, but I gotta get under the car to confirm. Might wanna check that out.

Let us know what yours turns out to be.

is it a problem if my lid to the resevior doesnt stay on well? i never see any puddles anywhere and fluids seem to be a a full level.

Not directly, but DOT 3 brake fluid is pretty hygroscopic. A loose cap would allow moisture from the air to be absorbed and then the fluid becomes rancid and starts corroding the lines and cylinders. After you figure out your problem, you should probably get a new cap and flush the clutch system well. While you are at it, you could use DOT 4 fluid which is a little less hygroscopic and has higher wet and dry boiling points and is also compatible with DOT 3 systems.

For anyone that was interested, my problem did turn out to be Slave Cylinder Failure. I crawled under the car and it was leaking fluid pretty badly. About 2 hours later, my friend and I had it replaced and bled. It's working great again. I would follow the advice of Redman and while you're under the car, flush the system completely. The fluid that came out of mine was full of black particles, pretty nasty stuff.
