No Takeoff

My cars been sitting for 2 1\2 weeks bcuz i needed an alternator. it is a 91 auto gst and noiw when i try driving it i have no take off it sputters until it finally gets going then the turbo kicks in but its not running clear. its like all the power builds up then releases it all at once but it still not running good. its also burning unburned gas and it smells alot too, so if any 1 can help me out id really appreciate it.

is your check engine light on? My car had the same problem. Now i'm not a car guru or anything but my problem was the o2 sensors. The check engine light didn't come on for a while. Then it finally did. Not sure if I helped any or not.

First off, Update your PROFILE, what car do you have, Turbo????? And did you install a new or good Alternator???? If not, than that is your problem, In our cars, when the Alternators go bad, our cars run like crap, useually the dash lights go crazy also, If you have a logger it should be charging around 13.7 - 14.2.

Stumbling is usually caused by a poor ignition system. Make sure you've got the correct plugs, good wires, fully charged battery, correct alternator. If all of that tests out peachy, run a boost leak test. Post back after you're finished and we'll go from there.

Spark plugs - NGK BPR6ES gapped at .028"
Wires - no damage, run a resistance test on them (ohms using a multimeter, post results)
Battery - Take it to an auto parts store to get checked
Alternator - Same as battery

Boost Leak Test - http://www.vfaq.com/mods/ICtester.html Make sure you hold 20 psi for a minimum of 30 seconds.
