Of course the tester is going to light up when you touch the ends on the positive side of the battery and a ground. The engine block is grounded, thus it's completing the circuit. If you are getting no power anywhere in the car, check your fuses. It's most likely the main fuse, which is directly off the positive cable of the battery. It's a larger fuse, check that with your test light, and see if it's still good.

Check the fuses under the hood and inside the car. Also, check to see that your battery terminals are secure and have a good connection. It shouldn't be very hard.

Perhaps this isn't the type of helpful post he was looking for? Thanks dedlewamp for taking the time to enlighten him. If you hadn't I was about to. However, 2g's don't have that little fuseblock off the pos. wire. Just the main fuse panel aft of the air filter. Btw, racethistsi, check all the grounds on your engine and exhaust. Granted you are apparently still getting continuity judging from your positive terminal-to-block test you might not have all the grounds intact. The two I can think of off the top of my head is from the intake man.-to-firewall & cat. converter-to-body.

Holy Shit.....i go out today..do a few power tests and holy shit...the car had power...and i didnt touch a thing...only with a dsm would this happen...no idea how it happened but ok ill take it...any idea wut would cause this
