trying to remove the stock T25 and the 3 turbo to manifold bolts and nut is stubborn as hell, i snapped my 14mm socket right before my eyes as i tried to crank it lose with a pipe and breaker bar, so i thought.. Garrett is an american company and maybe it uses an SAE socket (which i have very few of) so i dig around my tool box and find a 9/16 and fits nicely but the exact same results as i watched it split again. So now what? how do you guys get it loose? Ive soaked it with PB blaster and ill try again tomorrow, should i use an impact gun? I also have a propane torch, should i heat it up?

wow, sorry I cant be of more help but I've never really had a problem with those bolts ---- that wasn't my own stupidity crossthreading them :)

I'd try every avaliable option, heat, impact, impact sockets, not much else you can do that doesn't invole a drill or a cutting torch. ;)

i had a little trouble with the nut too....i soaked it in tons of PB blaster for a few hours, heated it with a torch and then went at it with an impact wrench/socket.

if all else fails you can try to break the nut of the stud and then drop the turbo from underneath once you get the other 3 bolts off.

When it came time to remove my T25, I had soaked those nuts and bolts for three days with WD40, and broke a wrench trying to get them off. My uncle came over to help with his tools and a torch, just in case. He used a fairly long breaker bar (coupled with his years of experience working on turbos the size of my engine) to break them loose. I think 9/16 was about the size mine were, but it was two years ago, so I can't remember. Just remember one thing: When you go to put everything back together: ANTI-SEIZE EVERTHING! :)

thanks for the responses guys :thumb: I managed to get it loose, i bought a new socket (6 point this time :) ) and i heated the bolts with the torch... oh the beautiful sound that it makes when you crack that sucker loose :D The PB blaster didnt help much as i tried before heating it up.
