I am replacing the CAS on a 1G and it can be installed in 2 different positions 180 degrees from each other. I cannot see any identifying marks, keyways, flat spots or anything else to identify which way this thing goes in. Is there something I am missing or can it be installed either way? All the posts I read say it can be 180 out but none stated how to identify orientation. Thanks.

1. Set #1 at TDC.

2. align the mark on the sensor housing to the notch on the plate, I don't have a scanner at home so can't show you a picture but if you look closer you should know what I mean.

Method that both I and my mechanic use is to put it on and try to start it. If it doesn't work, coughs and dies and so on, just pull it off and flip the tab around. He's said that it won't do any damage if it's backward for a quick start-shot, just waste a little gas. After all, it's not going to run your valves into the pistons like a mis-set timing belt would.
