Here's the deal I have a check engine code concerning the mass air.

According to a local tuner shop they said I will because its a 2g mass on a 1g car, so the ECU needs to be calibrated. Is this true, because this has just been a re-occuring problem for about a week and a half? I had no problems for 2 months.

Yes, I have checked and cleaned the mass air. No, it's not hacked. I have 550 injectors, 255 Walbro pump, and a SAFC. I do have a logger and the MAF has readings.

What should they read for one, and what else can I check to get rid of it the light? My drivability is not effected. No boost problems or fuel cut.

I've run a 2G MAS on my '90 for 10years without a CEL.

My thoughts are that either you have it wires incorrectly, one or more connections is bad (you did solder/shrink tube all connections  ) or your MAS itself is faulty.

If all connections check out, disconnect the (-) terminal of the battery for 10secs+ and see if the CEL clears :dsm:

yes the connections are right. There soldered, and the MAS has been on there since the last owner owned it. I was just asking cause it just started this problem. Thanks anyway. I just have to go find a 2g MAS to check it.

I got a 90 TSi AWD. Here's the problem. When I turn the ignition on I have no check engine light, but when I start the car, about 5 seconds later the check engine light comes on and stays on while driving. As soon as I turn the car off and turn it back on, no check engine light. It does the same sequence. I tried checking the code but it wont let me, seeing there is no code with the car turned on and not running. Why is it throwing a code but wont let me read it? Could it be a bad O2 sensor or something to that effect seeing the car has to be running to read certain sensors? This is really getting annoying.
