My new talon is giving me trouble
the clutch makes squeaking noises when activated and the only way to get her into gear is to hold the pedal in just the right spot and kind of force her in. At the bottom she wont go in at all.

I have adjusted the master rod both ways to see if i got any improvement and so far either way just makes it harder to get into gear.

she has plenty of fluid and pumping does nothing to help, i have also had some one pushing in and watched the slave go through the entire range of motion.

is it the tob? the thing that pushes the tob (clutch fork?) or possibly a loose spring or other object getting in between the plates?

Any ideas would be great, I feel like in punishing the tranny driving her like this.

Sounds like you may need a new clutch. The noise is almost certainly the throwout bearing (tob). There is also a return clip that holds the tob onto the clutch fork that sometimes can get bent up (always if installed wrong) and get caught rubbing/stuck into things.

Thanks, I have been looking around for a place to have a clutch put in. The best so far is pina motorsports up in kent and they will do it R&R $460. Any DSMers around WA that have room/experience to swap a clutch? ( I live around lakewood / tacoma WA ) I would rather spend the labor money on beer and pizza, If I didn't live in an apartment I would give it a shot my self ;)

Yeah, for the first day since I bought her it has stopped raining here ( although very fun to drive in sucks for trying to work on a car) After i get off (over time day yay) I'm going to jack her up and take a closer look at every thing under there.

I'm assuming to replace any of that stuff (fork or pivot ball) you have to drop the tranny correct? I might as well have pina do the clutch and all that stuff at the same time.
:talon:

Check bellhousing bolts.

If thats not the case, im willing to be a pressure plate bolt, or flywheel bolt has came loose. Loctite those suckers. Be sure to put an OEM TOB back in.
