Can a bad knock sensor cause extremely low compression? My 6-bolt Turbo was rebuilt and now the compression is very low (50-65). The knock sensor looks pretty bad and I was wondering if it could retard the timing enough to let all of the compression out through the valves?

No. A knock sensor is not related to poor compression. Look to your pistons, head gasket, head, and valves for poor compression.

O.K. it wasn't the knock sensor although it still needed to be replaced. I pulled the pistons out and the rings had frozen to the pistons. I took them back to the machine shop and they were baffled as to why it had happened but that they would fix them ASAP.
