Hello all, this is my first post on Tuners, but I am not really a newbie to DSM's. I do have a very annoying problem that I cannot seem to solve. My car is a 98 Auto AWD, 91k, good compression/maint. etc.
The problem:
-Idles at 200-300 RPM in gear, drive or reverse. Idle sometimes surges in park 700-1200 slowly, then back down, when it is taken from drive/reverse to neutral/park.
-AC does not bump up the idle speed, car nearly dies in gear with AC on.
-CEL is on after TB cleaning, "Idle air control malfunction", dont have the code # handy.
-Idle will "dip" randomly, drops 100 or so rpm without misfiring, but it is noticible in the exhaust tone at idle. Dont know if this is a related problem.
-Only pulling 15 in/hg of vac at idle in gear, 16ish in park. No idea here.

Things I have done to fix this:
-Boost leak check(s)
-Fixed leaks at TB gaskets
-Removed and cleaned TB
-Checked for vac leaks
-Compression test
-MCCC treatment
-New plugs (NGK 7ES gapped at .028")
-Adjusting idle with BISS

Some of the fix things may be unrelated, but I felt they needed to be done anyway. The car runs strong and holds boost fine, no misfires/bogging at all, holding .94-.95 o2 volts at WOT, sometimes higher, so I dont think it is rich. I have good oil psi at idle as well, so it doesnt seem to have any adverse affect on the car, except possibly low alt. output. Any ideas? I am thinking the ISC is dead/dying but I dont think this is entirely the problem. If there is any other info that would help, let me know, sorry for the essay :D

did ya remember to plug in the isc motor when ya cleaned the t/b ?
Or perhaps did you damage it ?
TPS plug'd in ?
did you remove the t/b coolant lines ?
bpr7es's are a bit cold for a stock car-

oh ya - welcome to tha site :)

Ya I made sure not to get anything in the lower passages to the ISC when I cleaned it, I mostly sprayed carb cleaner on a rag and scrubbed it out really well. Everything is plugged in, coolant lines are in their stock locations (didnt mess with them). Would it hurt if I cut a plate to completely seal off the lower section of the TB and eliminate the ISC? I dont want to buy another if that a) isnt the problem, or b) to have it go bad again. My car isnt really stock, I run 15-16psi with an evo3 16G, exhaust work, etc. its in my profile, I figured colder plugs would be good insurance and I needed new ones anyway.

Could a clogged BISS cause any of these problems? I think backing it out and replacing the o-rings and cleaning that out couldnt hurt.
