I had a previous problem with a check engine light in my 1990 TSI AWD. I got that fixed, but now the check engine comes on only after I have the vehicle running. When you turn on the key it comes on and then goes off like its supposed to, but as soon as I start the car it comes on after a few seconds. I tried reading codes but have no luck. Its saying normal state. Do I have some kinda leak that the ECU reads only during running? Thanks almighty DSM Gods. :talon:

try to find a new ecu 1g seem to have that problem they get hot and get bad. just have to see what you can find. mabe this isnt that case but who knows.

I would go ask the dealership before throwing down for an ECU. You don't even need to bring in the car, just go up there and ask at the service counter. It's worked for me before in a different circumstance. :thumb:

Everything is reading fine. The car doesnt hesitate or stumble. I have notice that when the turbo is spooling up it sounds like air is leakin in mass quanities. My boost is steady and solid. The last check engine light problem I had was the cam sensor. After I replaced that and checked everything, the car had no problems for at least 3 weeks. No this problem has come about.

I just checked the ecu one more time and its now giving me a volume air sensor fault. This is with the same occurance thats been happening. I have a 2g mass air on the car, if that has anythng to do with it.
