rebuilt 4g63 with 0 miles help!!!!!!!

need help i have a newly rebuilt eagle talon w/a 4g63 with 0 miles i tried to drive it today and the rpms wouldn't let me go over 3000rpm the car would hardly move what could be wrong.

well did you rebuild it your self??? cause when i rebuilt mine i put the plate with the notch for TDC on the crank the wrong way and when i timed it it all looked great until i drove it and it wouldnt go over 3k and i bent my intake valves. when i put a new head on i found out the plate was backwards by putting a long screw driver in the #1 cylinder and saw the when the mark was lined up i was not at TDC so i fliped the plate around and it was perfect
