I installed a used 2.5"-3" downpipe on my car a couple of days ago and installed a injen intake with cone filter one day after I installed the downpipe. Now, after about 140 miles the check engine light turned on. WTF is this? What is wrong?
Those are my only performance parts installed on the car so far.

I've read threads by people saying that the check engine light turned on on their cars after installing the downpipe and driving the car for 10 miles. But in my case it turned on after 140 miles. I hope that there is a simple way to solve this problem and any help is appritiated. :coy:

sounds like you got one of those downpipes that eliminates the cat. that would explain your CEL.....

yeah, there's no cat on it right now. I reset the ECU and the CEL is gone for now but it'll probably appear sooner or later again.

Well, with the cat removed, the secondary o2 sensor is sending signal to the ecu saying the cat isnt functioning properly. It doesnt hurt performance in any way. This will explain how to bypass the secondary o2 sensor to keep the cel from coming on.

Mine did the same thing, i just cleared the code and now everything is ok. It has never turned on again.
