Well i went through and did most of the stage 0 mods and the only thing that i haven't done is block off the EGR. I have unhooked all the "useless" vac lines and now my car is eating a s*** load of gas, and at the prices that gas is here well u can guess that i am damn near broke paying for gas. So is the mod worth it or not is my question or do i have to do something else to compensate for the fuel consumption. One more thing how can i control the a/f ratio with only stock mods and having those "useless" vac lines off?

Yes I have plugged all those lines off. The only leak that it has is one coming from the intercooler where it connects to the UICP. Do you think that it is because I dont have the EGR blocked?
It also holds at 18 for 20 sec then starts to drop steadly during a leak test.

I dont' see the connection between the two
If the coupler is loose, tighten, if it is punctured, replace.

The EGR only operates under vacume conditions after the car has warmed up, so simply removing the vac line may still let some exhaust pass thru as there is no pressure forcing it shut (could also have crud holding the valve open). To be safe, why not just pick up a small piece of sheetmetal and using the EGR as a template, fab-up your own block off plate? Just sandwich your plate btw the EGR and Intake Manifold and done :thumb: :dsm:

I planned on blocking off that EGR soon my problem is that when going to work in the morning, wich BTW is only 3 mi, i use the same amount of gas when going to newport news, wich BTW is 17 miles away

A car will run richer the first few minutes of operation as the O2 sensor needs to heat up and the FPR solunoid cuts vacume to the FPR boosting fuel pressure and the water temp is cold.

May also want to do general maintenance: fuel filter, plugs, check plug wires, base timing/idle, thermostat..etc.

I'd also strongly recommend getting a Datalogger which will help diagnose CEL codes, fuel trims (will show if running rich/lean) and O2 sensor condition.

FYI... the link above is the one I purchased and is 100% better made than the cheep one listed. You can also get it for $5 less if you tell him you dont' need the auto-on feature (90s like ours don't need it since we dont' have ABS ;) ) :dsm:
