My Talon is the first car I have ever driven stick with, so I didn't know of anything wrong until someone told me. I've picked up pretty quick on how to drive the car, but the only trouble I've had comes from this: in order for the gear to catch, the clutch has to be pressed to the ground, which is not unlike other cars with manual trannies. The difference is in pushing the clutch pedal down to the floor. It is easy to press up until about half way, then becomes a lot harder and springs back quickly, making it a little tough for me to get my car moving in first gear. Before I got the car, the person I bought it from put in a rebuilt transmission and a new clutch. Is it possible that the clutch just needs an adjustment, or is there something wrong with my car? I have felt my friend's clutch and it feels just like mine up until the 1/2 way point. I'm taking it to the shop Mon. morning and I don't wanna drive it if I'm going to be causing any type of damage to it by driving it this way.

Kinda like this?

"Clutch engagement.

Currently my clutch starts to engage just off of the floor board. How do I adjust it to a higher point? I'm finding conflicting answer's so I figured I'd ask to get the general consensus. Thanks for reading and responding"

Look here and do this:

It worked for me. The problem was that when I let my foot off the clutch, the car starts to go right when you first let your foot off, which would cause the car to stall and die, or casue whiplash ;)

FUnny thing is it's adjustable, but the mitubishi people din't even know how to do it, they said "It's a hydraulic clutch, it's not adjustable.

Well maybe not, but the engagemnet point is!

so is it normal that it's pretty hard to press in being that it is a hydraulic clutch? Like I said, I wouldn't know the difference because this is the first car I have ever driven stick

You could go ahead and take it to the shop, but if later on you're driving it and the clutch pedal stays on the floor, like it did once with me, then that can be a result of bad clutch master cylinder and/or release (slave) units.

took it to the shop...they said it's probably a bent clutch fork, which is pretty common, that's why they sell a clutch fork whenever they replace a clutch...they said they won't know for sure until they take it apart...does anyone know how long it would take for them to take it all apart and possibly just replace the clutch fork if that is the only thing wrong?
