I just did my first boost leak test and I have coolant hose that is leaking air. I took off the clamp and put a new one on and it still leaks air out. It is the hose that comes out below the tb and closer tto the intake manifold.

Why? Turbo? Tb Seals? There is no water in the oil because I changed it yesterday and would have noticed. No hissing coming out the tail pipe. Please explain/diagnose.

Thanks a ton!

*** UPdate I just pulled the radiator hose off, it is leaking from the TB down to the hose. Also, I did reinstall the tb with rtv. THanks.

you have a COOLANT HOSE leaking . . . air? hmmm which hose would this be? and how do you know? you can hear it bubbling?

Yes Its a coolant hose sort of... Its the one closest to that attaches to the throttle body closer to the manifold than the other coolant hose which is fairly close to it. I know this because i was doing the boost leak test and could hear and feel air coming out around the hose. So I took the hose off and the leak is coming out of the throttle body through the nipple. Any ideas on how/why?

Thanks!

Switched throttle bodies and the problem is fixed. This Tb has a idle surge problem though... there's always a catch.

Thanks and good luck!

definitely make sure your sensors are good! ISC, TPS . . .

I switched throttle bodies and it went away. I'm assuming Bad seals in the TB.... just for future reference in case someone finds the search button!

No... I did fix it. The seal by the FAV in the casting is bad on the original TB... All is well. The idle surge I had was from the cruise cable being too tight.
