This friday, im getting my Talon TSI Its a beautiful car, except that the engine is ugly as hell.

What should I do to it, I have enough money to buy mostly whatever I need, What parts do you think I should order. The guy i got it from says it Sputters in High Boost, But im thinkin its the spark plug wires. Is there a website, that has everything I need to rebuild my engine? What parts does everyone think i should buy to get it back to perfect condition.
 
A website that has everything you need to redo your engine? well, your already on it, the best tool, and the best parts is knowledge.

dont just start ordering parts and smacking them on, read, read and read some more, learn why they need replaced, which ones are best, and share your expierences with the rest of the clan.

the reason the car is studdering at high boost is because you look to have a turbo xs bov. it is not recirculating. i suggest getting a recirculated bov or gettin a gm maf and translator if you want to continue to run it atmospheric.
 
What's wrong with your engine that it needs a rebuild? Don't replace things that don't need replacing. If you're looking to make it appear better, powerwash it, and do some polishing a painting.
 
I think it ran fine tho, with the BOV thats on there, But someone link me to a good bov, if everyone says that ones not good, i guess I should listen. But i think the studdering happened after that bov was put on.

But I mean, I havent even got to drive it Yet, I bought it off ebay, I got an awesome deal. I just wanna know like, what are all the basic parts, that look ####ed up in that pic. I got like a grand to a couple grand i wanna throw down and do as much to it as possible. I really wanna get it running like the day it came off the shelf. I dont really care about upgrading.
 
Man seriously, yall are the shxx, I Have been tryin to get someone help me out, and look at it, and just tell me what to do. For like 2 weeks, I tryed to get on this board before, but i think i had to leave or somethin. But this is the most help I have gotten for it. So what is a good BOV, or the gm maf thing you were talkin about, I searched that up. How hard is that to put on? And what does it do. Will it let me be able to keep my bov? I heard it over the phone, its loud as hell, just how I want. But if its not good for the enigine. Will it be fine to keep it and add a gm maf? Or would yall suggest just trashin that BOV?
 
Also, I think my car is what yall call a 2g... not a 1g, Just the engine looks so old, it looks like a 1g i guess.
 
Nice looking ride. I think what defiant meant by go back to a 1g is that you should get the 1g BOV. I had the turbo xs HRFL the one you have and my car ran like a$$. So i switched to a Turbo xs RFL the one that recirculates and my car runs much better. The car already has a UICP from the looks of it and an intake. Clean the Cone filter change plugs and wires and all the belts. That is a great start. That should clean up the way it runs. As for the way that it looks on the inside just power wash and polish/paint. just be careful when you power wash not to get things wet that don't need to get wet. I have never done it so i can not tell you the proper way if anyone knows if there is a FAQ please point him in the right direction. :thumb:
 
Can someone name every set of wires I will need
example: Spark Plug Wires. Just every kind, so I can order them.
