i went to the track earlier tonight (not racing, just watching). on the way there i blew an intercooler pipe off (no sweat put it back on and everything was fine). however, when i left the track i found a puddle underneath of my car. when i looked under the car, drops were coming off the oil sending unit. the oil cooler and off the splash shield. any ideas on what it could be? bad water pump, oil cooler????

Those would be the first place I would look. Clean it off try and pinpoint it and let us know what you find.

i took it to midas this morning. they called me back and informed me that the water pump housing was the cause of the leak. however, they denied me service because of the mods i have. "sir your gauges indicate you have a heavily modded vehicle." so i gave them a piece of my mind. heres the question. i have a brand new water pump on my other dsm. should i take it off and ask for another shop to put it on my other dsm? how much is a water pump usually?

its a bi*** to install. . .

did mine about a month and half ago drove 1/2 mile if that and lost 2 cylinders . . . i hate dsms. . LOL

i know around northern virginia its anywhere from 200-500 for install and most places will only use parts they order.

it really isnt that hard to swap a waterpump... i've done it 3 times now within the last month because i thought my new one was making noise, so i put the old one back on, then got a new crankshaft trigger plate, so while i had the belt off, i put the new waterpump back on... if you know the tricks to a t-belt change, it doesnt take you that long at all, i had a hell of a time the first time with the exhaust cam, but then i set it 1/2 tooth off clockwise, and the intake 1/2 tooth off clockwise as well, so when you tension the belt, they will go towards each other, then getting the auto tensioner in spec isn't too bad anymore... haha i think the hardest part is turning the key to start when you get done (alot of stuff is running through your mind on "did i do this?" "did i do that?") now i dont hesitate, just do it haha.. btw, the price on a waterpump is about $60 or so.. at least thats what i paid..
