ok, heres what's up. now ive been drivin my car for 4 months now and have not once smelled my clutch before. i have a ACT 2600 clutch and with my mod's there's no way i'm over-powering it. but the other night at the track i ran 4 runs then on my 5th run when i hit 3rd gear my car tached out as if the clutch was in... it wasn't of course so i put it in neutral and coasted the rest of the way (yay for 16 second-quarters!) got back around parked it, popped the hood and was hit with the most foul, strongest burning clutch smell i've ever expereinced. looked at my clutch fluid reservoir and it was bone dry. now i realize im a complete idiot for doing this but i just dumped some fluid in it, let it cool down and raced again. got 2 more runs in before it did it again on the 3rd time. only this time, there was still fluid in it. got her home, lifted it and found the clutch's slave cylindar is leaking. the problem isn't new for me ive already replaced the slave before because it was dumping fluid before. however, this one is only a month old and is doing it again. now back on topic, today i was driving around on the streets (driving normally, not doing anything stupid) and i got back home and smelled the clutch again, only not so strong. a friend of mine is guessing that either my entire hydraulic system on my clutch is toast or that my friction plate is toast. my whole clutch assembly (friction plate included) is less than a year old with about 18000 miles on it.
