I just swapped my my Honda (ok no laughing) for a 1990 AWD TSI. It has a turbonetics kit with a bigger turbo. The seller told me it was a super 80, if they even make one of that model number. My question to you guys/girls is when I was driving it home (appr. 12 miles) the check engine light just popped right up and hasnt gone off. I did have to hurt a new Honda SI's feeling's before I got on the highway. I figured maybe it was getting hot so I left the turbo timer run for 2 min. and popped the hood. Its been sitting for a few hours with no luck. Any thoughts or suggestions??? Also it has a Super AFC in it. When I drive and have to stop the car just dies. Any help will be greatly appreciated. :talon: :notgood:

Could be a bad O2 sensor, could be something else in the emissions control system.

Disconnect the car's battery and let it sit for few minutes. When you reconnect the battery, the light should be off. Although you should find out what caused the light in the first place. Do you know someone with a datalogger?

Welcome to DSM's. One big advantage of owning a DSM is the wealth of information available online.

As a new owner you should spend some time on the VFAQ site and browse through all of what's there. You mignt not need the information now but then you'll know where it's at.

It's simple to read out the code on 1G's.

Find out what the ECU thinks it wrong go go from there.
