i had an oil leak that i fixed (cam seals). i though that was the cause of my having to add oil all the time but that seems not to be the case. i have to add ~1 quart per 600 miles.

i don't see any oil leaks anywhere, i checked the lower ic hose but it looks clean. i didn't check the ic yet. i was about to check it this weekend when i noticed my coolant looked kind of funky. i use the zerex g-05 which is clear, and mine is not clear any longer. i siphoned some out so i could look at it and it looks to me as though there is oil in there. i had done a compression check a couple of weeks ago and every cyl was ~150 so i'm guessing it's not a blown HG. hg is metal 2 years old w/arp bolts.

the strange part is that i get no coolant in the oil. could it be mixing in the water/oil cooler?
has anyone had this problem?

Remove your oil filter, get a 24mm deep socket and see if the shaft where your filter screws onto is loose. If its not loose, you could have overtightened the filter and crushed the cooler. Its a common problem.
