I have lots of oil blowing through my intake?????

There is a considerable amount of oil blowing through my intake, I am pretty sure it is coming from the vent hose that runs from the valve cover to the intake. Is that normal on a DSM? If not what causes it to blow through it so much? The car isn't smoking, the only side effect I have is that the intercooler is catching everything up and I have to keep cleaning it out all the time.

Also I am concerned because I am going to get a catch can to keep it out of my intake but that could just be band-aid, I also want to fix the problem, if it is a problem.

Nope, I already checked that out, it is not the pcv. I have also changed the filter on the vent hose.

What is blow-by?
Blow-by is the leaking of combustion gases past the piston rings and into the engine block. All engines have some blow-by, since piston rings can never seal perfectly. Most cars have a vent (the positive crankcase ventilation valve, or PCV valve) which lets these gases out of the engine block while keeping (most) of the oil in.

On DSMs, the PCV valve is connected via a hose to the air intake. Since oil leaks out of the PCV valve, oil gets into the intake and usually gums up the inside of the intercooler. Many DSMers remove the connecting hose to correct this problem. To prevent oil spraying into the engine compartment, they also install either a filter or a catch can in place of the PCV valve.

Your piston rings are probably going bad if you have excessive blow by.

My pcv is routed to the stock location.

I'll do a compression check over the weekend, it could be the rings, but wouldn't it smoke out the exhaust? I have no smoke out the rear.

How much oil are you losing between oil changes?

I change my oil every 2k miles and the last time I lost 1 qt over that time. But I also have a leak on the oil return from the turbo that I have been trying to cure, it's just a minor overnight drip.

I'm starting to suspect your turbo seals might be going bad also. Refer to this post and do the boost leak according to SoonToBeDSM06.

I'll do that and the compression check over the weekend and then we will see where I am at.
