ok so i have my car at a auto shop and they cant figure out what is wrong with it, they just installed the rebuilt motor and and the motor is fine but when they start it up it runs really rich and idles really bad, it sounds like it is going to shut off and it chugs at idle. Also there is some sort of a sparking noise coming from in the head or else below it. THey told me the sparking noise was the least of my worries and it should go away. They cant figure out what is wrong and they are going through a list of things. For mods all i have a is a manual boost controller and all the free mods. They have the boost controler pretty much unscrewed all the way i dont know if that will help but if anyone can help out that would be great because i dont want to be paying crap loads of money for something they dont know if they can fix. :talon:

have you pressurized the system to see if there are any leaks?

i remember when my UICP popped off it was riding like $hit but i doubt that is it

check for intake and boost leaks other then that i have no idea

I'll bet the timing belt is not aligned correctly and pistons are smacking the valves
Have the tech set the #1 piston to TDC. The Cam Alignment dowels should be at 12 o-clock with the exhaust sprocket pointer at 3 o-clock and intake pointer at 9 o-clock (i.e exactly pointing at each other).

Take a straightedge to make sure they are perfectly aligned. The timing mark on the Crankshaft Pully should also be pointing at TDC on the lower timing covers' plastic scale.

At this point I'd also have them check the rear balance shaft to see if it is 180deg out of phase VFAQ

Before i rebuilt my engine it was making this werid noise and they said i needed a rebuild cause i was running 15lbs of boost, so whatever i did it took out the old pistons and they had grooves from the vavles smacking them so i bought new ones they did a vacum leak test on it and there were no leakes. They were totally stumped the said if i had any ideas to let them know. So if there are any other possibilities out there please let me know.

I'm confused. From your first post it sounds like this shop just installed a rebuilt engine and now cannot get it to run right

If the symptoms are accurate in your first post check the TBelt alignment as I suggested as a first step.

I'd then have them perform a compression test to see if anything is damaged internally (valves, rings).

If both the above check out have them check your base timing and pressure test your intake :dsm:

The whole story is i took my car into get the headgasket changed. they did that for me and when they started it it idled like crap and had a weird sparking noise. They told me that i needed to rebuild the engine because it took to much beating from running 15lbs of boost everyday. So we took it apart looked at the pistons that were in it and saw they had indents from the valves hitting them and you said above that the noise could be the valves hitting the pistons. So i got the rebuild done took the motor back to them so they could put it in and now its running like it was after they put the headgasket in. They dont know what is wrong with it and im just looking for any ideas Im going to run down to the shop and have them check the timing again. My dad and i had the timing aligned right before we took it there and they changed it saying it was off, so if anything is damaged internally they would be responsible for that wouldn't they?

They f-ed up the timing belt.

Stupid hack mechanics.

Evidence of them f-ing up the timing belt.

Could they of f-ed the timing belt again? Me thinks yes.

Print out the T-belt VFAQ I linked you to above and make sure they follow each and every step w.r.t. the install (i.e. alignment, turning the crank over 6 revolutions and recheckign alignments). :dsm:

Just to let you know. There's a reason why no one else has posted in this thread. There is nothing left to be added. Great job DSM90AWD
