i recently bought a 1990 eclipse gst. exhaust system, hks ssqv vented to atmosphere. for some reason i keep on having random idle surges... it isn't horrible, but it is noticeable... i woul dbe cruising, comes to a stop, and it would jump from like 700 - 1500, and back and forth and back and forth and then go back down to 700 - 800 where it should be... can anybody point me in the direction of why this is happening?

also another question.. when i'm cruising in forth, and go WOT, i hear my turbo spooling and such, and then i watch my RPMs, it hits about 4k to 4.5k and then drops to 3k and starts going back up again.. help me!!

So the car is completely stock. you should not be VTA.. That could very well be your problem.

He is right. If you don't have a GM MAF and a MAFT in a "blow thru" setup then you shouldn't be venting. Venting to atomos. causes all sorts of problems

yeah, i know.... when i bought the car, it came vented.. looking for 1" ID hose so i can vent back into intake...
