I am at wits end guys, I don't know what to try next. I have a 4g63 w/cyclone intake, and stock freebie mods. Except for the 3" exhaust. Everytime i put my foot to the floor it feels like I've got a hundred mph head wind. But if I back out to about 1/2 or 3/4 it takes off like I have NOS. I don't understand this at all.

Next is on a cold start it will idle just fine. But as soon as it starts to free roll I get a high rev and it like a rev limiter kicks in up and down, Until I bring the car to a complete stop. Now my Q. is, I have two ABS wheel sensors that are bad one front one back, could this be the reason for the high revs in the morning on cold starts? :confused: :cry:

OMG You guys really need to search more, even I'm getting sick of typing boost leak test. ROFL

Are you venting the BOV?

And us other rookie's wonder why rookies get hated on so much...SEARCH

No I am not venting my BOV.

And now that you say pressure check remindes me. the only thing I didn't replace on the motor when put in was the snorkle. And when I put it on it was cracked where it attaches at the turbo. :talon:

Sorry for the inconvience. I have read forums until my eyes hurt man. It's not easy being a rookie here and finding everything you want, with 4 kids running in the back ground. But thanx for the response. :talon:

That would not be a boost leak, pressure system starts at the turbo and ends at the intake vales. A cracked snorkel will allow the turbo to pull in un-metered air, I would fixed that first then perform a boost leak test.

OK I did the test and the only hiss I hear is under the valve cover. That's not good is it? :talon: :sosad:

not too bad, just need a new gasket, and if it is the valve cover then not to bad either, my cousin picked up a perfect condition one at the pick n pull over here for 17 bux including tax and a core charge, and he didnt bring a core

Valve cover or gasket has nothing to do with boost leak. ;)

How much pressure was the system able to hold. Follow this thread and you can ask follow up questions here if you have any.

I have oil where the spark plug wires lay. Mostly the passenger side though and thats where the hiss is. :talon:

Excessive crankcase pressure. Read through the link and we will talk about it more.

Soooo, While I have the head off of it and getting it reworked what mods can I get done? Like what size valves and cams stuff like that.

Why are you taking the head off?

Because I have valve seals that are bad also. I am going to run a compression check on the cylinders tomorrow

I did a search on excessive crank case pressure and thats what I came up with. Almost everything they talked about has happened to me. The dip stick shooting out and the hole bit. It don't shoot the dip stick out anymore though.

But you don't know that until you go through all the tests.

1. Move the tester to the TB elbow. If hissing stopped, turbo seal is leaking which is normal unless the turbo is leaking oil. If problem persists, go to 2.

2. Remove the pcv hose and cap off the nipple on the intake manifold then repeat test. If problem solved, replace the pcv with an OEM unit, the old one was stock open. If problem persists, go to 3.

3. Compression test, dry and wet. If compression is normal, you can then say it's the valve seals.

Hey, Oldman I just did another pressure test on it and my injectors are leaking air.

Injector seals or insulators, A every common problem. Did you follow the directions above concerning the crankcase leak?

I was just getting ready to go on a drive to warm the car up. Figured I would do one more pressure test before I do. And thats what I found, So far. Going to do a compression test as soon as I get back from my drive.

OH, i also found a guy close to me to do a leak down test on it later this week.

I just did another pressure test. Ignition on, and the boost gauge didn't move off of zero. Stock boost gauge. Did I do that right?

Never go by the stock boost gauge.

Do I have to buy new injectors just to replace the insulators? :talon:

I just did a compression tes and here goes nuttin.

Dry = 140 135 120 140
Wet = 150 150 135 150
