ok so heres some backround info real quick...
95 talon tsi fwd 5spd. 60k
had a firtst gen ic on it (dont aSK ME WHY) now has a 2g ic. ill explain in a min
stock bov was crushed due to overtightening on the the recirculation tube so it was replaced with a TXS RFL bov that is vented

so i put the bov on the other day and blew an ic pipe off. this is how i learned that i had a 1 g and not a 2 g ic on it. we replaced it with a 2g ic i borrowed from a buddy. now heres the issue. in 1st and 2nd gear the car revs fine to 7k. free rev and it revs fine to 7k. but in 3,4,5 at about 3500 to 4k when it hits full boost i hear a loud whistle almost like a very loud turbo spoolin. but its now. im running stock ic piping also. at 4 k the car jerks like the engine is shutting off. anybody have any ideas as to what this could be? it feels like the bov is dumping without me letting off the gas but it also feels like a ic pipe popping off. ive checked them all and they are all on good and tight so its not that. could i need to put a tighter spring or some washers in the bov? i need this fixed soon so any ideas will help. im gonna try to do A boost leak test tomorrow. thanks

i had this problem and i just fixed it a couple of days ago. Mine was an intercooler pipe coming off. it seem like you have a leak also you should recirculate the bov if its vented.

Go get an aftermarket boost gauge first and foremost.
Why you say? Because we need to know if you're building boost correctly. A loud scraping sound or whistling sound can sometimes mean that the turbine is hitting the housing. That's bad. You'll know by checked the shaft play on the turbo and by the fact that you're not building full boost or any boost at all.

As to a leaking IC pipe. A small cut or tear in a pipe will cause all sorts of problems. Also, when I was running a stock IC, My uicp that ran under the fuse box wasn't bolted down. Everytime the motor would flex it would pull the pipe off, and when I let off the gas, it would pop the pipe back on. Took me three days to figure that out...... *sigh*

You're correct in doing a boost leak.

As SinEclipse said, it's not good to vent. Your car isn't meant to. Make some kind of recirculation kit for it. It's also possible that you're leaking from where you mounted the bov.

Do a boost leak test
Check for shaft play

i checked all the piping and everything is tight. i bought the stuff to reciculate that bov. but i think im gonna put the stock back on. since im borrowin my buddys smic i gotta get a new one. and im not gonna spend my money on another smic when i plan on getting a fmic down the road. so im gonna get one. i also gotta sell this bov cause the only piping kit i can find has a greddy type flange on it. so im gonna get one of them too. can someone tell me what dimesions i can fit for my ic. heres the one im lookin at. 24x12x3. end to end its 30.5in. will this fit
