question about ecu's

OK i have a 59 awd 5-speed turbo and some one put in a eclipse ecu in it
and it went out
and to by that model is like $450
so i called the dealer and got the factory part number and the problem is the core is about the same price as the ecu soooo i am going th spend $450 no matter what
i have look at all junk yards and all sites check all parts stores and i can not find one less then like $450
my question is is there a reason for a eclipse ecu in my talon???
and were to look for one

The ECU is the same between the eclipse and the talon. If you can, open the ECU up and take a picture - post it here. I wouldn't put another ECU in the car until I figured out what the problem is.

yea i did that and i did not see any burnt spots
but the foil is wrinkling under the gel
i will take a pic in the morning
