Car wont start

Hey i got a 1gen tsi and it wont start. I just got back from my euro trip for like a month and the car has been sitting in teh drive way. It will crack over but it just wont ignite, I changed the battery and check the plugs and wires...the plugs do get spark but it wont start..any ideas of what i should look at? Thanks

Well if it has spark, it might not be getting any fuel, You can check to see if the pump is running by having a friend roll the car over while you either listen at the gas door with the cap off(to hear it buzz), or you can roll it over for about 10 sec, and then pull the return line off the fuel pressure regulator to see if any comes out. The car has to be rolling over for the pump to run. It will continue running(pumping) for aprox. 2-3 sec's after you stop cranking.

I doubt it would happen in only a month, but there may be a blockage in the fuel lines somewhere (gummed up gas?). If you have access to an air compressor, pull a fuel injector and pressurize the fuel tank to see if any gas comes out at the intake manifold. If not, you may need to clean the lines with an injector cleaner.

This could be a real easy fix or a real bear. Since the car cranks you know that you have air, since the plughs have been checked you know that you have spark, but fuel is the big question mark. Turn the key to ON, not start and see if the feul pump kicks on, if it does not check the pump wiring and the pump, and if bad replace as Reqiried. If the pump come on the check the inlet not the return side of the fuel rail, if there is gas check the injector s and their wiring. If there is no gas take the banjo bolt of the top of the feul filter on the passanger side of the fire wall, if there is no gas there then replace the feul filter. This is probally wat it is since it sat for a month the pump probally sucked something up in the tank and clogged the filter. However if everything I mentioned checked good then your ECU may have taken a crap, which has happend to me, or the motor is out of time. If the motor is out of time everything will happen as it is supposed to but not at the right time. If this is the case have someone crank the car and smell the exhaust, if you smell gas thats the problem if that dosent fix it, you might have to pay some one to find the cause, there is only so much that you can diagnose via the net. Hey everyone, Well i got the car started...i really dont know what it was, i replaced the plugs and battery, it took a while for it to finally start up but at first it was struggling and then got better..i let it run for like 20 min before shutting her down...i was pretty happy. still a mistery on what was wrong, my guess something with the fuel but it's all better now. Thanks yall
