Fuel pump

There is another tread of mine with the whole issue here but this is specificly for the pump.

Where the pump inserts into the assembly; there is a cap, o-ring, and then a spacer. When I put the pump in, the spacer would wiggle around. I didn't think too much of it, but now I think that it could be the cause of the fuel pressure issue I am having. Should that spacer be seated firmly in the assembly? I think that the fuel from the pump is not making it to the supply line to the engine.

The spacer does not seal the fuel, the cap/o-ring does. So unless the cap was not positioned correctly and/or the o-ring was pinched/slipped (you did apply oil to the o-ring before installation)?

On mine (1G AWD) the spacer spins freely on the pump and my first attempt at install had the same issue as you which turned out to be the o-ring (I didn't lubricate it and it twisted up during install causing a poor seal).
