Mississauga,
I've done searches and some are relevant to my problem. But none mention anything about the exhaust. After reading some posts on slow spool problems, i'm starting to think my catalytic may be clogged.
List of "relevant" mods:
6bolt
9:1 Wiseco pistons
272 regrinds
FMIC
AGP L2R BB Turbo
Stock exh. mani
Stock ported o2 housing
3" exhaust (with cat)
.. now before someone tells me "thats a bit turbo, it needs time to spool" consider that the turbo doesnt fully spool by even 4,500rpm or so.. and is VERY laggy even in high or low gears. I do have an EGT guage but it's not working, which makes things harder because people say I should look at my EGT's to see if I have a clogged cat due to an increase in ehxuast temperatures caused by the restriction in the exhaust.
So I went out and did something simliar. Tonight after work, I drove home which is about a 5-10km trip, on the highway doing no more than maybe 110km/hr (80 miles ?) at your average 3k - 3.5k cruise speed. After parking and shutting off the car, I came out and touched the TIP of the muffler, but it would burn my skin off if I held it there for longer than 1 second, it was in insta-burn mode.
Can anyone say if the exhaust should/shouldn't be this hot? I've boosted once in 1st gear, probably building no more than 7-10psi at most and just the TIP of the muffler is burning my finger. Could this mean a clogged cat?

! .... but just though I'd hear what people thought of this incase I don't get a chance to do this in a timely manner. But thanks for your tip, it will eventually come off as soon as I have time.
