Just bought at 97 Eclipse GST, drives great..

check engine light came on 2 days ago, after taking a look under the hood i saw a wire unplugged just to the right of the dipstick near the oil filter..

yesterday it got very low on gas while sitting in traffic, put premium gas in and drove the last 2 miles to my house. this morning i went to start my car and it started a little rough and i noticed the idle wasnt normal. I drove 10 miles in the freeway to work with no issues. when i got off the freeway, the car started idling sparradically and tried to die on me at a stop light. I made it to work ok, but it the idle was very rough.

now it wont start.

any suggestions???

o2 sensor?? fuel filter??

whats the connection on your MAF look like? was that lose connection on the the housing that the oil filter is connected to? sometimes the oil pressure connection on the back of that filter housing(oil pressure sending unit) will come off.. its a connection that slides on. the other one is on the front of that housing that 'clips' on.

i would start by finding out what code you pulled. hopefully the light is still on, get an OBD2 scanner or get the car to autozone and pull the code. start from there.

also is it turning over? did you check to see if you have spark?

almost forgot, when my alternator died this same symptom happend to me. but this symptom that you have is very popular and the cause is hard to find given all the different possibilites. try not to be so vague and include major details.

if its not turning over then jump it, charge the battery or replace the battery and see how it runs then with full juice
