clutch issue?

ok i think i burned out my clutch (or its close to death)...i went to a spot where i left tire marks before...about 15 feet ...and it didnt do sh*t. i tried again adn still nothin. also since im still not perfect at driving stick it tends to buck a little into 1st adn second....not much but it jerks the car a bit, it doesnt do that anymore. is there any particular way to tell what condition the clutch is in w/o ripping the tranny apart?

From what you said, it seems like you have a slipping clutch. You don't have to take the clutch out to see if it is bad. If it is slipping, there a problem. If you replaced your clutch and didn't resurface your flywheel, that will kill a clutch too. Eventually when your clutch is dead, your rpms will go up but your car won't move or will move very slowly.

On another note - If you try to "burn rubber" on a hot clutch, you will definately kill it in a very short time. Thats a . If you like to leave tire marks on the road, let your clutch cool off before you do it again AND if you like burning rubber that much, get a high performance clutch (like the ACT2600 or similar) that will take the heat and abuse.

hmm see i didnt know this, that would prolly explain it....the first times i had just started driving it around, and last night i'd been driving around at high speeds before hand. i'll def keep that in mind, thanks.
