Ok it all started when i passed an import and I decided to be stupid and rev up my engine. I drop it in neutral and rev my engine up high and then i notice a difference in my car. I pull into a gas station and then pull out on the street again and 1st gear is fine but it won't go into 2nd or 4th or reverse. So all of my bottom gears are gone. So I'm mad and take it home at least 1st 3rd and 5th work. I take it to a transmission shop and he inspects it and says i need a new transmission. I find a used rebuilt tranny for 650 with a 1 year warranty and i go ahead and buy a clutch kit. I get a shop to put it in and I go today to pick it up and it is still doing the same thing. It is too much of a coincidence that both trannys would do the same thing. He says it might be wires connecting the shifter to tranny (linkage i beleive) Well i have 10 minutes to go to a doctor's appointment so i go ahead and take the car like that, I still had the top gears left. Well when i am almost to the doctor my gas pedal goes limp and i pull over and sure enough the wire to the throttle was red hot and it had melted off. What the mess?? Now my transmission is acting up and this is messed up. I decide to forget about the doctor's appointment and take the car home so I think quick and run to a nearby hardware store and with a small chain/wire i rig it to the throttle and run it through the passenger window and to my hand. So I try to turn on my car and now it won't even start. The electronics in the car start going crazy and their is ticking everywhere and my gauges are acting up and it won't even start. I get somebody to give me a boost with booster cables and it turns on but as soon as i turn the lights on it turns off. I turn it on again and this time i hit the brake and it turns off. So any time anything electrical turns on the car died. After this it would not turn on again like if the battery had drained. I pull the car to the shop and I began to hate my car.

What could have happened. Is it some kind of short? As I was driving down the road the temperature gauge needles would bounce up to hot at the beat of my subwoofer. Im so confused.

Its a bad ground that is causing your issues. What one i can't tell you but you have a serious grounding issue. If your melting the throttle cable, it has been known to be ground related,

You were right, the intake manifold was not grounded so it was using the throttle cable to ground. What makes me mad is that I just bought a new tranny and clutch and the only thing that was wrong was the linkage to the tranny. I spent $700 for tranny $155 for clutch and $325 for labor then another $150 for a new throttle cable and linkage to tranny plus labor. that is $1330 when I could have fixed the whole problem for ~$100. This really sucks. Anybody need a good tranny and clutch?
