My driver's door window has had a problem since I bought the car where it can't go up all the way, it will come off the track and need to be pushed back by hand then cranked to get to go up.

I finally got around to trying to fix it and took the door panel off and checked the bolts that hold the regulator on. They were tight as can be. I tried adjusting the regulator, to see if I could angle the window better, but it didn't do anything. I've searched for about a half hour to find similar problems, and I did, with some people suggesting cleaning the rubber tracks.

But I can still grab the window and easilly move it back and forth and up and down a little too. Cleaning the rubber tracks will not fix this problem. Is it normal to be able to move the window a lot by hand? If not, how can I fix this? Thanks!

Yeah, it is. I just lubed the crap out of everything and now it goes up and down easy, but it's still loose. I'll just deal with it, it works way better than it did before.

My drivers side window does the same thing. About half way up it starts to angle forward and out a little. If will go all the way up but will then be sticking about half an inch out at the top and forward about an inch.

I found out the hardway. Left my car out in the rain with the windows UP I thought. With that window sticking out as far as it was....it basically became a rain scoop more then anything else. :(

Yeah it's messed up again. I'm just going to have to fix it the right way. The grease kept it from sticking out for a day or so maybe. I have to replace the regulator, I guess.

I am having the same exact problem on the drivers side. Could you please let me know if replacing the window regualtor fixes the problem? Thanks.

The regulator has nothing to do with it. Yeah, it pushes it up and down, but it's not going to fix your problem. Just simply needs to be aligned. Follow that link from above and you'll be able to fix it.
