NT Burning Oil

Hey,
my 99 RS with 70k seems to be burning oil. The last two times I have checked it hasn't shown any oil on the dipstick, so I have added some both times. It does not appaer to be lekaing any, as there arent any oil stains on the ground. Does anyone know what would cause this? From what I have read, it sounds like I might need a new engine or a rebuild.

could be a burnt valve, bad valve seal, bad piston rings, or something else, there are a lot of possibilities of what it could be. Take your head off and start inspecting.

Run a wet and dry compression test.

Test compression normally, then add a bit of oil into the cylinder and wait for it to soak into the rings and test again. If it goes up alot, your rings are worn...if not, your head will need some work.
