i just bought a 91 talon AWD. when i try to start it..it wont. i have to give it alot of gas so that itll start. first we had to reconnect the o2 sensor because they were cut. an then the MAF wire was re-connected when the SAFC was taken out (before the car was sold to me). it has old gas in it so i dont kno if thats the problem or not. also has a crack on the exhaust manifold and turbine housing. is there sometthing im lookin over?

how old is the gas?sounds like you bought a piece of crap.

1. compression test
2.old gas=varnish=stuck valves
3.cracked housing=junk
4.get your money back

bought it for 1200 bucks so idk. if anything ill just get a new engine. just would have been sweet for me to fix it.

does anyone else think they know whatsup?

Ask Chris if it had an aftermarket fuel pump installed. I was having this same problem with my 93 after I got it back together and come to find out, the o-ring on the pump was torn and keeping it from building good fuel pressure. Let me know and I can come out and show you how I fixed mine. I can also bring the nut for the o2 housing.

he said that it probably did knowing that it had a 20g w/ supporting mods. my parents are making me take it to a mechanic. i already told them the bill is gonna be outrageous, but you know how that goes. haha as long as they pay for it, ill b fine, but if they make me pay for it...we're gonna have a problem.

Thats fine but with a previously modded car and a lack of dsm specialty shops around, They will never be able to find the problems because they dont know where to look. They will hook a scanner to it and find no stored codes and then either charge you an arm and a leg for trial and error or just tell you they cant find the problem. If they want to pay a mechanic, I will be more than happy to come over this weekend and work on it till it is fixed completely.

ill talk to them about it. they just want to see if its gonna cost a couple hundred to fix or if its going to be a couple thousand. they're gonna make me sell it if its a couple thousand.
