Long story short...car fell of jackstand, and broke the hard metal hydrolic piping(just 1 of them)that runs from brake cylindar to rear of car...break is near rear driverside tire. I was thinking of using a compression fitting, but Father-in-law(a plumber) said no way, so will a ss custom hose work? does anyone have any suggestions?

Well, it's only the brakes, why not just do a ghetto-rig on it?

I'd pay a brake shop to do the repair, and just eat the cost. The line will have to be cut, the ends flared, all the shavings will have to be completely cleared, a jumper section will need to be securely plumbed in, and your brake system will need bleeding. If you're up to all that and can work carefully enough (we suspect a possible snag on that part), have at it.

The Napa near where I live has premade sections of brake line which already have the flared ends on them with fittings. Check what length of piping you need and stop by your local Napa. Any sort of add-in fitting is not going to work due to the sheer pressure of the brake system.
