Need Help Fast! Electrical Problem.

Riddle me this...

When engine is not running, but key is in the "on" position. Power windows do not work. Dome lights do not work. However the dash does light up when you turn the headlights on. When the engine is running, and the key is (of course) in the "on" position, power windows work, dome lights work...

It also "kills" batteries. So I thought it might be the alternator. Replaced the alternator. Nope, still "kills" batteries. So I thought it was the battery not holding a charge. Replaced the battery. Nope. No cigar.

Help!

this sounds like a blown fuse. Have you checked your fuse panel for faulty fuses?

also i had the same probelm with my battery draining for no apparent reason, i suspect the factory radio was staying on when the car was off but when i got a new deck the problem was fixed...

Did you check to see if the Alt is charging?

With the key off, check the large red B+ wire at the back of the Alt. with either a test light or volt meter. Should have battery voltage, if not then the large main fuse 80-100 amp is probably blown.
