i need a picture of a STOCK 1g turbo head gasket. when i say stock i mean one from mitsubishi, not a felpro or top line one. why you ask??? because i am taking my head to the machine shop to replace some bent valves and in my 6 to 7 years of being into DSMs i have never seen a factory head gasket. the gasket that was on my car (it came from a 91 gsx automatic engine... that is now in my 92 tsi) has 4 layers and is all metal. my bro said it is a high perf. one and that they are reusable but i am doubting that it is and will probably just use a felpro anyways. but i am curious as to what the stock ones look like as they did from the factory.

Strange Question? I heard they are reusable also but have not heard of any one actually reusing one. If someone has could you please post here? I have one that was used for 600 miles and would like to know if it is safe. As far as stock Head Gasket I dont see why it would be any different from a standard cheap head gasket.

They look like a felpro...a slight bit beefier but pretty much the same thing.

OEM Felt HG

Friendly piece of advice, don't use a Felpro. At least not the stock replacement felpro. I've seen them blow in a very short amount of miles on dsms, they're not constructed to handle boost pressures. An OEM one from any of our supporting vendors should cost you $50 or less (what I paid anyways). Worth paying a little more IMO.

i have had felpro's with ARP's last thousands of miles with 18-20 lbs on 16g's.

And I've seen them last 20 miles. On a well machined head and block I might add. You yourself sell the Mitsu OEM one for $49 it's worth it :thumb:

I agree with you 100%, im not promoting the use of a felpro by any means but they do work. You are correct though, for 49 dollars for an OEM one (only like 10 dollars more than a Felpro) its well worth it to just get one and call it a day. :thumb:
