420A a leaking sunroof..help

alright this was a little problem, now its getting worse everytime it rains .

when i bought my 95 eagle talon esi. the sun roof was sealed in, i thought, no biggie. its sealed. so i can just fix it when summer comes around. well now its starting to leak. alot. and rewiing my seats and such , im planning on re doing my interior, so its not that bad i guess. but it just sucks that its leaking. the motor still works, and can press on it, and it will still try to go back, i dont know maybe if i broke the seal when i did that, and i also was in a wreck, and maybe then it broke. i have no clue , i just need it fixed soon, and hopefully cheap. would i have to go to a pro, or just a DIY. ive tried asking people around here into cars and such for a good place to get it fixed, but everyone says ill just have to seal it back up, and i dont want to do that, summer is coming up, and i need that sunroof. any advice is welcome . please help me soon!

Replace the whole sunroof assembly... probably easier than diagnosing the leak and fixing the motor. When you say it was "sealed," the previous owner probably just meant "it doesn't open because it's broken." In fact, it was probably not sealed closed at all, but suck open a few millimeters- enough to get water in.

Run thick weedeater cord through the drains to clean them out..

ok how much time and money is this whole new sunroof assembly going to take, im willing, just need to get the facts, maybe a good company to buy everything off of. or just pick out stuff on my own. and for the best price.

Are the drains in the front, back or both? I am having a similar problem, and my car sat for a year or so. I would not be surprised if the drains were clogged.

Id do what defiant said or replace the whole assy, its a pitta to figure out where its coming from...


and when IF ya do, i need the driver side track/rail j/p

Similar problem, If it rains heavily And i get in my car when i go to stop the water will pour into the cabin... very aggrivating . I bought some weed wacker line and pushed it down through all 4 but i cant tell if im pushing it through or not, and I still got leaked on after this. if its rains for a few days than My headliner will already be wet when i get in the car.
