I've searched and read up and nothing seems to apply to this case. I installed my FMIC and all piping last night. I double/triple/quad checked all couplers etc and they're all as tight as they can go w/o breaking the clamps. When I accelerate at all, any, my A/F meter goes to the second green light and the car won't build boost and stutters and bucks. Some ppl with similar problems have said that it'll go or clear itself if you stay on it but I didn't even want to try. I had never felt fuel cut but I've read enough on it to know that along with the A/F reading full rich is probably what I'm seeing, not a leak somewhere.

So question is why? The air has to go through the filter through the MAF to read the amount, so why would the ECU compensate enough to make it full rich? Did something happen to my MAF possibly? Im stumped and I've read a ton on this. Does not sound like a leak anywhere but I am waiting on my friend to get me back my tested and air tank to check it out. Can anyone help ASAP please. I'd appreciate it.

Thanks
Matt

hmm i just installed my FMIC last week and i had the same problem i couldnt build boost, car was idling weird, and it would sputter the closer i got to boosting. When i check it seemed i forgot to hook up the wiring harness to the MAS ROFL

I double checked that first :) It's in there and the voltage cycles at idle like normal, just when my foot is on the gas at all it's reading full rich :notgood: :notgood:

but I let someone borrow it and I'm waiting on him to return it. My concern was not a leak, it was the full rich reading when touching the gas pedal. Can someone confirm this is a symptom of a leak? I figure if the ECU is compensating fuel based on the MAF's signal, the leak after the MAF would cause lean conditions, not full on rich with a touch of the pedal...? Thanks for the replies guys

Exactly the opposit a boost leak creates a rich condition, not a lean condition. You're loosing metered air that the ecu had already compensated fuel for, kind of like venting a bov, hence too much fuel not enough air.

that makes sense, for some reason I'm thinking air is getting sucked in, but it's getting blown out, thanks oldman, I'll have to make another one I guess. dang it
