I'm not a newbie to the DSM world I've been with DSMs for 7 years and I'm on my 3rd DSM. I did something really stupid lastyear without thinking...I think we all make stupid mistakes though, and this one still seems to be haunting me. On with the story.....Lastyear, I added "Basic" PS fluid to my resevoir because it was low, Yeah, I wasn't thinking....only after this happen I remembered uh oh..So i pull over and I have this orange reddish foam coming out of my PS resevoir. The next morning I start the car up, it makes this horrible loud whining noise, not high pich but vey low pich like steel beams were being bent in half, loud noises from the PS pump. More overflow was coming out of the resevoir, so that night I drained it and tried to cyphon out as much as possible, One point i actually left car on and disconnected the return line for the resevoir so I drained a great deal of what fluid was in there, I refilled with Dexron III and no more bubbling. Since the misfil incident, during cold mornings the car makes the loud roaring from the PS pump until the car heats up a little. This noise only happens when I try to turn the wheels, but after it warms up a little its quiet and normal. When the temp outside is warm no moaning at all... What the hell is the matter? Did I do some great damage? or should I redrain the system fully and refill with ATF again???
any comments is helpful,,if not Im going to find a another ps pump.....
thanks john
