Need help... it seems as if the black rubber type thing is starting to unstick from the front of the top, where the windshield and the top basically meet. its like one 3 inch part jus like bubbled up! i dunno if maybe i can take it off and restick it with some type of silicone or just buy new weather stripping? Where could i buy weather stripping that would work for that, other than at the dealer? Is it hard to install? Or what else should i do?

I'm having the same problem with my spyder. On the passenger side. I guess we could go through the trouble of buying industrial velcro, taking off the old, glueing on the new, then hope that it works, besides buying a whole new headliner or whatever its called............i'd like to know :dsm: , as for now, i'm dealing with it..........

I can't tell from your description what you are referring to. Is it the rubber gasket running along the mating surface of the windshield header? Or something on your roof?

sorry wret, i really dunno how to explain it. the part right in between the top and the front windshield part, the black piece thats all the way at the top, part of the car. When the top is closed you can see it de-glueing itself off the car so im guessing that crazy amounts of water are getting in from there :-\ i hope this helps understand a bit better

Tried to find the best pic to describe it... Used a pic of 20stang01's car.

Now see where the top meets the paint in the front, right above the windshield and there is the black piece in between the top and the paint.... that thing, on the drivers side, even wen its closed its looks like its de-glueing itself. about 2 inches of its is starting to come off... what should i do? was this a lil better? trying to explain myself a bit better so i can get help

Gotcha. It sounded like you were referring to something attached to the roof, which I don't have.

That gasket is critical to keeping the rain on the outside of the vehicle. I'd stick it back on there with some 3M Super Weatherstrip Adhesive.

should i remove the whole thing and glue it on? or buy new weather stripping and replace it? what would u should wret? ur like a spyder guru! LOL

Thanks wret

First choice: Glue loose sections.
Second choice: Glue the whole thing.
Third choice: Replace with new and glue the whole thing.

The rubber has a tendency to dry and crack. If yours is deteriorated to the point of lost functionality, then by all means replace it. Part #MB88197, about $60.

Is there anywhere I can order the new rubber online? The closest dealer is a couple hours away. I tried a quick google search with the part # but didn't come up with anything.

Try http://www.norcomits.com/

That part number does not come up in their online catalog but you could call and inquire.
