My car all of a sudden has started to make like a siren sound that sounds like its coming from the left side of the car. I'd imagine it most be coming from the turbo or a part on the turbo because when I start it hit boost it starts it make the siren sound. I have an external dump on there and the car used to sound raunchy but now it just makes this squeling siren sound. It also start to shudder, bog, and lose power extremely quickly once hitting over 12 psi. I thought maybe the wastegate actuator was getting stuck maybe chocking off the dump causing it to make a high pitched whistlings sound. Then my stepdad mentioned maybe my turbo is going(T-25). Anyone have any idea whats wrong the car only has 60k miles so I dunno I didnt think the turbo could go so soon. How would you check for shaft play and could it be a bearing fired in the turbo causing this.

Only time i heard that sound was when i bent a fin on my compressor wheel. Just one and that thing screamed sooo loud. Check that and see if something got in there. For the bogging down, maybe boost leak? Might want to build yourself a leak tester and have at it.

I would take a look at the compressor fins. I had the exact same thing happen to me and the fins were all bent. Good luck

Do you think there could be a problem with the actuator not wanting to open the wastegate? Because a friend of mine after looking at the turbo and driving in the car thinks it might not be the turbo but the wastegate itself.

I am having the same problem, It started 3 days ago. it almost sounds like a supercharger. Doesnt this mean the turbo is almost done?

Mine started making that sound, and it was my turbo going out. If you have ever heard those "groan tubes", it was similar to that sound. (that was the best description I can come up with). But it does sound a little like a siren starting.

If that is what you are hearing, you may need a new turbo :)
