Hey everyone. Recently my car hasn't been running all that great, although some days it runs really nicely. Here's the deal. I did a turbo swap to a b16g and during the swap while I was taking off my manifold i found out I have broken manifold studs, 4 of them, so I know my exhaust side is leaking which is probably causing some problems. I also have one broken bolt on the turbo to manifold, so that's anothe exhaust leak, but the rest of the bolts are torqued right. Anyway, recently at around like 3000 right when it should start making good boost (it's slow cause of the leaks) it starts to stutter, not incredibly bad, but the stock boost gauge start going way up like up to 14 by about 3300 and my after market boost gauge hovers around 0. I know the stock gauge isn't accurate after u've changed turbo and done other mods but it usually moves at the same times as the other boost gauge. This makes me think somehow I'm loosing boost somewhere or something's not right. The boost gauge is hooked up to one of the lines coming out of the intake manifold. At like 4000 it seems to be back to normal, but it only boosts to 12 max and I can hear the waste gate open. No matter how much i mess with my mbc it always hits 12. Anyone have any ideas?

repair those boost leaks, the factory gauge will go up to 14 if you have a intake leak I believe. Good luck

Oh, I forgot to mention, I did a compression test and I have perfect compression on all cylinders and I checked my timing and it's right on point as well... I do have a walbro 255 but I'm on the stock fpr (i know it's bad i just need some extra money to buy a fpr). I also have an s-afc and it's leaning out my system about 6% but that was with my 14b, would I need to lean it out more or less on a 16g without the fpr?

I don't have a compressor, is there another good way to do a boost leak test?
